DCL - DJ's Cricket League 2023 marks the beginning with a roaring launch

The fifth season of the highly anticipated DCL DJ’s Cricket League, a unique and pioneering cricket tournament is set to bring the DJs together for friendly yet fierce cricketing battles on October 1, 2023, at the picturesque Spring Club. The tournament will celebrate the values of unity, reflection, and sportsmanship among DJs, marking another remarkable year of thrilling cricket action and camaraderie.

The launch of the 5th season, titled “DCL DJ’S CRICKET LEAGUE 2023,” was a grand affair that brought together the DJ community's crème de la crème. The primary objective was to nurture camaraderie and collaboration through the game of cricket, showcasing the inherent strength of unity within the DJ fraternity.

The festivities commenced on September 5th with a series of engaging activities, including a press meet that allowed media to get up close and personal with the participating DJs. Players shared their anticipation for the upcoming matches, igniting the competitive spirit that would fuel the event. The announcement of Captains, team draw, jersey unveilings, and the grand trophy reveal added to the excitement.

There will be six teams, each led by a capable captain that will compete in a series of intense battles. The captains—Sunny Sharma, Harish Lakhmani, Kunal Bose, Dippy Bindra, Hardik Thakker, and Akash Rohira—will lead their teams with vigour and determination, driving their players to achieve their best.There will be six teams, each led by a capable captain that will compete in a series of intense battles. The tournament will be comprised of six league matches, leading to two riveting semi-finals and a climactic final showdown. Players were selected through a unique lucky draw system, where each captain had the opportunity to choose their team members. The players were categorized based on their performance over the years, ensuring a balanced and competitive environment. 

A standout feature of the tournament will be the inclusion of female DJs, showcasing their prowess in the world of cricket. Six female DJs will join the fray, infusing the tournament with a powerful touch of “Girl Power.”

The pinnacle of the event was the introduction of the newly designed trophy, “DCL Darling,” dedicated to the memory of Lt. Gurpreet Kaur Sethi, a beloved Committee member who passed away earlier this year. The trophy symbolizes not only victory on the field but also the cherished memories and unity that define the DCL DJ’s Cricket League.

The presence of the esteemed Chief Guest, Mr. Arun Lal, graced the event, along with the interim team consisting of Mr. Vikram Newar and Mr. Bipin Newar from Taaza TV, Jimmy Tangari from 91.9 Friends FM, Nimesh Shah from JK Ads and Paramita Ghosh from Candid Communication adding a touch of charm to DCL.
